A Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench lawyer Asad Abbasi filed a writ petition against Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday, accusing him of violating Articles 63 and 204 of the constitution during his speech in Lahore on May 2, 2011.
Abbassi said the chief minister had asked judges, army generals and politicians to apologise to the nation for being involved in corruption, adding that such statements had defamed judges, army generals and politicians. He asked the LHC Rawalpindi Bench to bar the chief minister from performing his official duties. He said further that Shahbaz had not justified his statement and had also not taken back his remarks.
“Issuing statements publicly against superior courts and judges is a contempt of court under Article 204 of the constitution,” Abbasi said.
Even Chief Justice of Pakistan cannot dare to touch Sharifs, what can you expect from an oridinary High Court Judge? Come off it!!!
