KU and UoG to join hands

KARACHI: The vice chancellors of the University of Karachi (KU) and University of Gujrat (UoG) on Tuesday agreed in principle that the two universities should collaborate on various sectors of education. A meeting was held in this regard between the KU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui and UoG Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin. Nizamuddin along with his wife was on a visit to the KU, which is their Alma mater as well.
The UoG Sociology Department faculty members accompanied them. The UoG vice chancellor, a specialist in population studies, emphasised upon establishing mutual links with the KU Sociology Department and invited the KU to collaborate with the UoG on various international and national projects. Siddiqui, while talking to the delegation, assured the KU would prove to be of immense help in promotion of education and research at the higher education level.
“Mutual collaboration among universities is imperative for productive academic environment because cooperation among teachers, scholars and researchers is extremely favourable for students,” said Siddiqui.
