Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad met with former law minister and senior PPP leader Senator Babar Awan and agreed to establish a working relationship between the Pakistan People’s Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, private TV channels reported on Saturday.
After the meeting, the governor told journalists that political and administrative steps would be taken for harmony and stability in Karachi and the rest of Pakistan. “Pakistan is suffering due to political turbulence, other elements are taking advantage of political differences,” he said, adding steps would be taken to protect the country and its institutions.
On the occasion, Babar Awan said that President Asif Zardari and MQM leader Altaf Hussain were working to strengthen democratic institutions and dialogue would be initiated to stop the blame game. Under the guidance of the top leaders, all issues would be tackled with sincerity and discussions would be held to move forward, he said.
