In what seems as a thaw in the tense relationship between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and its estranged ally, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad called on President Asif Ali Zardari in the federal capital while several MQM leaders showed up at an Iftar dinner hosted by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah at the CM’s House in Karachi on Friday.
A private TV channel reported that President Zardari had invited the MQM to rejoin the government, hoping that the party would unite with the government for the betterment of the people. The PPP’s overture was further confirmed by Sindh Local Government Minister Agha Siraj Durrani, who told reporters after the Iftar dinner in Karachi that the MQM was likely to rejoin the federal government before Eidul Fitr and leaders of both parties “will say Eid prayers shoulder to shoulder.”
Asked to comment on the magistracy system in Sindh, he said all reservations over the matter would be addressed through dialogue. MQM leader Raza Haroon confirmed that talks between the two parties were underway. “MQM also endorses the policy of reconciliation,” he added. Meanwhile at the Presidency, Zardari and Ebad discussed the law and order in Karachi and expressed satisfaction over the overall improvement in the situation.
A source told Pakistan Today that the MQM stressed on the need for a quick action against 500 criminals involved in ethnic killings and incidents of riots across Karachi.
One thing became crystal clear that mohajir mentality of MQM and its supremo has not changed despite claims that MQM was party which represented all the nationalities across the spectrum.
The other thing which could be discerned that Altaf's benefactor which means the British government is becoming restive with clandestine activities of Altaf Hussain who is living in a leafy suburb of London under the protection of the British governments. This is a welcome development. Altaf Hussain;s jocular speeches on the phone has suddenly mellowed down. This obviously shows actual standing of this so called brave leader of mohajirs.
As far a wooing of MQM to rehoin government was concerned, Asif Zsrdari, in pursuit of completing 5 year term, he will continue his so called disasterous policy of reconciliation come what may come how many target killings are done by MQM. Besides, MQM would never want to remain outside the government for long time true to their track record that they have been ruling the roost in all the government.
Let us see how long this niw drama of reconciliation is going to last.
mqm cant afford the sitting in opposition benches,bcz they r habitual of power so they will back in the govt.

MQM is "Prodigal Sons" of every government so they will come back after some hick-ups.
MQM has no shame and PPP has no qualms about the dramas being played resulting in destruction of peace in Karachi. There is no courage on part of the PPP to enforce law.in the country and hold thugs responsible for the situation in Karachi/
