Over 2,000 killed by drones since 2004

Beginning in 2004-05, United States drone attacks have so far killed over 2,000 people on Pakistani soil in over 210 such strikes, with the year 2010 the deadliest in terms of the number of strikes and the casualties.
According to data available with Pakistan Today, in 2010 alone, 831 people were killed and over 85 injured in 90 drone strikes inside Pakistani territory. In 2007, 20 people were killed and 15 injured when a missile hit a cluster of compounds in the Dattakhel area of North Waziristan on June 19.
The data shows that in 2008, 156 people were killed and 17 injured in 19 such US attacks inside the territorial limits of Pakistan. In the next year, the number of casualties rose to 536 with the number of attacks also recording a surge. In 2009, the US conducted 46 air strikes in which 75 people were injured. The June 23, 2009 US strike in Lattaka, South Waziristan, proved to be the deadliest in which approximately 80 suspected militants, including a senior commander of the Baitullah Mehsud-led militants named Khwaz Wali Mehsud, were killed and several others sustained injuries. The year 2010 proved to be the deadliest, with over 831 people killed and more than 85 injured in 90 drone strikes inside Pakistani territory. In 2011, US drone strikes have so far killed 395 suspected militants in 36 hits and injured over 46.
Interestingly, the number of NATO-related attacks in Pakistan also witnessed a surge as the US increased the number of air strikes inside Pakistan with each passing year since 2008, the data revealed. In 2008, anti-US elements carried out 8 attacks on NATO containers in which 7 people were killed. In 2009, militants hit NATO convoys on 25 occasions in which 12 people lost their lives. The year 2010 also topped the list in terms of NATO-related attacks in Pakistan, with 99 such attacks in which 39 people were killed. In 2011, the country has so far recorded 69 such attacks leading to 46 deaths. Most of the casualties in the NATO-related attacks in Pakistan are believed to be Pakistanis.

  1. Bastards, why don;t you give headline like over 37,000 martyred by Talibas!!! Thanks to drones for getting rid of these 2000 terrorists, none was innocent, but tell me how many of those 37,000 were brutal killers and terrorists???
