Several protesters took to the streets on the main Preedy Street in Saddar, shouting slogans against the government and torching two Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) vehicles. Police said that the protesters lost control over themselves when they spotted two KESC complaint vehicles. “The protesters attacked the vehicles, which were in the area to fix a power problem, and beat up KESC employees in those vehicles. The employees managed to escape, but their vehicles were set ablaze,” they added. The demonstrators were protesting a blackout of up to seven hours. However, traffic flow remained unaffected since the angry mob had started their protest soon after Iftar.
