Police chalk out plan to keep markets safe

The Sindh police have chalked out and enforced a plan to ensure security in shopping centres and market areas of East district so that people can shop for Eid peacefully and without fear.
According to the plan called, ‘Ramazan-ul-Mubarak Market Security and Anti-Criminal Action Plan’, the police will adopt a ‘secret watch system’ in all markets and shopping areas to keep in check any criminal activity.
SSP East Ahsan Umar is heading the operation along with additional SPs, DSPs and SHOs.
Under the plan, a secret watch squad of police will be present in the shopping areas and markets in Korangi- 2, Korangi- 6, Grain Market in Landhi- 6, Shah Faisal Colony, Saudabad, Shama Shopping Centre, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan- e-Jauher, Sharea Faisal, Tariq Road, Bahadurabad, Ferozabad, New Town, Soldier Bazaar, PIB Colony and Jamshed Road Colony.
Foolproof special arrangements have been made for the security of mosques and imambargahs during sehri, iftar and taraveeh prayers under the plan.
The SSP East has also issued orders to police officials to stay alert as no negligence will be tolerated during duty hours.
He pointed out that the plan has already been enforced in the district and it can be changed if required and more personnel can be deployed.
