LAHORE: An accountability court on Monday declared Suleman Shehbaz a proclaimed absconder due to his failure to appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
A NAB prosecutor informed the court that Suleman was summoned regarding an inquiry into money laundering and possession of assets beyond known sources of income.
He further apprised court that Suleman was reluctant to cooperate in an inquiry related to Chaudhry Sugar Mills.
Prosecutor also informed the court that Suleman has left Pakistan and so all his properties, both movable and immovable, have already been confiscated.
In the previous month, the court was informed that NAB issued six notices to Suleman but he didn’t respond to any of them.
The prosecutor also requested to the court that due to non-compliance of Suleman and his leaving the country, the properties owned by him should be confiscated.
Later, on August 5, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Suleman and ordered the authorities to produce him before the court.
