Monsoon rain water

The monsoon rains are a blessing from God of which we are storing only nine percent in our dams while the rest of the world stores almost 40 percent. This will get even less as the dams silt up, and we will move from the water-stress to the water-scarce level.
In our great wisdom we are building Bhasha dam in preference to Kalabagh dam. Bhasha dam is outside the monsoon range and will not store even one drop of God’s bounty. Kalabagh dam on the other hand will trap the monsoon flows of five big rivers, Kabul, Chitral, Swat, Haro and Soan which flow into the Indus above the Kalabagh site.
