Condemning the killings in Quetta, Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday said contract killers had entered Quetta after facing defeat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “They are slaughtering innocent people in Quetta. Action is needed against them,” he told reporters.
The minister said Balochistan would become a rich province after the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package was completely implemented. “People involved in murder of innocent people in Quetta will not be spared and all measures will be taken to arrest the perpetrators so that they may be awarded strict punishment under the law of the land,” he said.
To a question about Karachi, Malik said the federal government was lending complete support to the provincial government to restore peace in the city. “Certain elements who are trying to destabilise Karachi won’t succeed in their nefarious designs,” he said.
