The Punjab government has finalised plans to monitor constituencies belonging to legislators serving in the provincial government. A special audit of development works being carried out in different constituencies for which funds have already been allocated was also authorised.

A local media outfit reported on Thursday that the government had contracted a private company to carry out the audit for the development works in the province.

The company was paid Rs 25 million by the Punjab government and was authorised to oversee the completion of development work, a report of which it would be sent to the chief minister’s office.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar had earlier allocated Rs15 million for development work in constituencies.
