The Lahore High Court on Friday took serious notice of non-implementation of court orders by police and ordered Lahore CCPO to set up a “cell” to ensure compliance of court orders. Justice Sagheer Ahmad Qadri issued this order while hearing petition of Malka Babar of Gawalmandi Lahore along with two other identical petitions about non registration of cases against policemen despite orders issued by sessions court. On court’s summons the CCPO Malik Ahmad Raza Tahir appeared on Friday.
Justice Qadri observed that the courts will ensure compliance of their orders and in case of defiance the responsible will be taken to task. He directed the CCPO to establish a Cell in the department to ensure implementation of court orders and take action against the delinquent police officers.
The court also directed him to register a case against a sub-inspector Zulfiqar of Gawalmandi police station on the complaint of petitioner Malka Babar and submit compliance report in the court on August 1.
