This is with reference to colossal loadshedding which is now even affecting the hospitals located in Punjab. These hospitals in public sector are providing essential services to the humanity. These hospitals should not be treated like other residential or commercial buildings.
What will happen if a patient undergoing critical procedure in emergency suffers just because of callous policy of Wapda authorities to bring hospitals under loadshedding net? It is so unfortunate that we have lost touch with the principles of humanity and compassion.
Here I must specifically mention the loadshedding schedule at Punjab Institute of Mental Health, Lahore at the prime hours of the day is deplorable. These mentally challenged patients need our special attention. These patients come from far flung areas to the hospital for various psychiatric diseases.
I request the federal minister for water and power as well as Wapda authorities to reconsider this decision and take pity on these vulnerable patients. It is suggested that all the hospitals may be declared exempted from the menace of loadshedding immediately.
