A zero day in Oslo

The recent terrorist attack in Oslo, killing dozens of innocent men and women, was a nerve-racking experience for peaceful Norwegians, and cause of concern for the rest of the world.

The Pakistani nationals, who have migrated to the western destinations, and also those who are in process of planning to leave their native land for the sake of livelihood and peaceful living would also be in severe shock that things can get worse even in the most modern states.

Unfortunately, people in our country, particularly for those living in Karachi, everyday is a zero day because they are experiencing non stop killings in their daily life. There may be various causes of insecurity in countries like ours due to economic mismanagement and governance, but in a country like Norway where the citizens are well looked after, such an attack shows that religious fanatics like Anders Breivik could carry out horrendous act anytime anywhere.

Norway would certainly investigate the gory incident and find the reasons. However, breakdown of family system in western societies and growing loneliness in the citizens can contribute to build a typical behaviour of an individual unleashing the disaster.
