The federal government has moved the Supreme Court seeking transfer of the fine deposited by Bahria Town to the public fund.
Attorney General Anwar Mansoor Khan said that “any money received by the Supreme Court is liable to be credited to the Public Account of the Federation”.
Following the plea, the apex court issued a notice to the Sindh government.
Justice Azmat Saeed has assured that everything will happen according to the Constitution. “No order will be issued without hearing the Sindh government,” he added.
Earlier, SC accepted Bahria Town’s offer to purchase the 17,000 acres of land for a total price of Rs460 billion.
