A man in Bahawalpur has been arrested for repeatedly raping his teenage daughter, which at one instance, led to pregnancy, a private media outlet reported.
According to reports, the 18-year-old survivor was raped by her father multiple times after the former’s mother, getting tired of being physically abused on a daily basis, left the man.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered on behalf of the 18-year-old victim, whereas the accused, identified as Anwar, has been arrested by the police. The case was filed at Hasilpur’s Saddar police station after the teenager’s nine-year-old brother informed a local feudal lord of his sister’s ordeal.
Upon the feudal lord’s request, police said, they took action to uncover the crime and arrested Anwar. The predator, they added, had repeatedly raped his own daughter multiple times over the past few years, leading, at one instance, to a pregnancy.
Anwar had consequently forced his daughter to have an abortion, police said.
In addition, police noted that Anwar’s wife had left him five years ago and the couple has five children in total, including two sons and three daughters.
