The Central Working Committee of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday elected Nawaz Sharif as its president, he has been elected unopposed.
No ballot papers have been printed for the election of all the top seven slots, including PML-N president, with consensus as already developed by the party’s leadership.
The party sources said that the constitution of a seven-member election committee headed by ex-general secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagra is just a formality, as its role would be limited to announcement of new office bearers.
Senior leader Javed Hashmi has been elected as senior vice President, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq as Chairman, Sartaj Aziz as General Secretary, Mushahid-ulallah Khan as Information Secretary of the party.

  1. This shows how bankrupt Nawaz Sharif is in ideology and foresight. Why didn’t they give at least appearance of multi- candidate contest by asking more candidates to enter the race even if they had no chance of winning? Sharif brothers have given bad name to democracy. And media is mum about it.

  2. change does not mean change of faces,it implies learning from experience and change in mindset. that we could see as a clear response from PMLN toward the root cause of problems, and provide full support to strong judiciary.
