LAHORE: Flight operations resumed at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore after several flights were delayed due to presence of birds on the runway of Sialkot airport.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) suspended flights from landing or taking-off at Sialkot airport when at least two flights coming from Dubai weren’t allowed to land and instead were diverted to Karachi airport.

Due to this, several flights which were scheduled to depart from Lahore to their respective destinations were also delayed.

A Lahore-bound PIA flight PK-734 carrying 342 from Paris on Wednesday made an emergency landing at the Sialkot Airport after being hit by birds, local media reported.

Airport officials later said that the flight was rerouted to Sialkot due to birds hitting incident.
