The confusion over the holding of the Pakistan and Sri Lanka series has been sorted out after the Sri Lankans were firmly informed of the improvement made in the organization of the series in the UAE.
An official of the PCB informed that since the Sri Lanka Cricket was taken over by an interim management, they were unaware of the development between the two boards over the holding of the series. And the interim management unaware of the past understanding insisted to host the series at home. But now the PCB has made it clear to the SLC interim committee that it wont be possible for the PCB to change the venue and dates of the series.
The confusion arose after the newly-appointed chairman of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) interim committee Upali Dharmadasa said that the UAE venue for the series had not been confirmed.
“We haven’t been informed of venues for the series yet. In fact the other day, I read on BBC website that series was confirmed to be played at Abu Dhabi. I learnt about it only then. We are going to discuss this matter at our Interim Committee meeting and then only we can communicate with the PCB and finalize the venues,” Dharmadasa had said. The series comprises five Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 match.
