I am facing an issue which I would like to highlight here. I applied to have my changed on my CNIC in May and got it done. But after a while, I came to know that I have been issued NICOP (English CNIC in year 2004) and my name has be to changed on that as well to proceed either for a new passport or a renewal.
I went to NADRA office Abbot Road, Lahore. The representatives on the counter misguided me regarding the fee for issuance of a Duplicate NICOP and issued token for Rs 5400. Somehow I arranged the money on the spot and applied for the duplicate NICOP which was supposedly to be delivered to me within seven days. But almost a month has passed and I still haven’t received my NICOP.
I have been visiting the NADRA office daily, have been calling complaint centre in Lahore and Islamabad daily on their UAN, and I have also launched complaint on their website but I still have not got any result.
They are giving me the same lame excuses that the up-gradation is in process in Islamabad due to which the cards are being delayed and that I will get my card within two days. These two days are like never ending two days.
Lahore office officials say it’s a problem they are facing since a month and many cards which have been printed are coming with either spelling mistakes or address mistakes and we are returning them on daily basis. They have stopped taking applications for the issuance of B-Form due to this delay.
Many others are suffering from the same problem. I appeal the relevant authorities to look into this issue and resolve it as soon as possible and save the applicants from troubles.
