LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid has announced to establish new Child Health University after the upgradation of Child Complex Lahore.
She announced this after chairing the syndicate meeting of Faisalabad Medical University. The university vice-chancellor and all faculty members were present in the syndicate meeting. All administrative matters and developmental projects of the university were also discussed in the meeting.
The basic purpose to make this university is to conduct research about different issues related to child health.
Further, she said that AIDS control centers will be established in all districts of Punjab among other facilities. “Shelter homes for the attendants of patients are being established with the help of donors. It is a very good sign of Punjab government to provide the maximum budget for social sectors. Nine new hospitals including five child and mothers hospitals will be established in different cities of Punjab. Basic initiatives to protect the life of mother and child during pregnancy is taken,” she added.
She said that Sehat Insaf Cards will be distributed soon in Faisalabad and Jhang. The budget of two billion is announced for this purpose.
The new board of Punjab Healthcare Commission is constituted to improve its professional performance. The anti-polio campaign will be made 100 per cent successful in respective areas of Punjab. Health supervisors and health workers are directed to ensure the dispense of polio drops at every house by visiting it.
