Court reserves verdict against Agha Siraj Durrani in assets beyond means case

KARACHI: An accountability court of Karachi has reserved the verdict against Sindh Assembly speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in assets beyond means case.

According to the details, speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani and others appeared before accountability court where NAB officials explained it to the court that they can apprehend the suspects by inquiring the matter within 24 hours.

NAB further told the court that the inquiry against PPP leader was initiated on April 8th last year after receiving complaints and Chairman NAB approved to file a reference once the initial investigation was finished.

NAB prosecutor said that the investigation proved corruption of Rs 1.61 billion done by Durrani with the help of his family and employees.

On this occasion, outside the court, Durrani told media that he is not afraid of court proceedings and will defend this case, soon everyone will see that I have committed no crime.

The accountability court has reserved the verdict accepting it for hearing and it would be announced on July 1.
