ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday claimed that many seasoned politicians were putting pressure [on government] to get verdicts that are favourable to them but they must remember that today’s leadership is very different and won’t dole out unwarranted clemency to anyone.

Speaking to media persons, she said every attempt to bring Prime Minister Imran Khan down will fail and opposition parties instead of wasting time should invest it to alleviate problems being faced by people.

She also talked about the still-pending Model Town case and added that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have an old tradition of indulging in corruption.

While answering a question about PML-N’s Rana Sanaullah’s remarks about her, she said that when one is no more able to defend himself or his party with sound logic, he starts a malicious campaign.
