As the country grapples with economic uncertainty amid calls from the government for austerity, a cricket team comprising parliamentarians is all set to visit London to participate in one-week Inter-Parliamentary Cricket World Cup, starting from July 8.

The 26-member squad consists of mostly Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers and will be led by the son Zain Hussain Qureshi—the son of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, according to a June 11 notification making rounds on social media.

It includes Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman, Narcotics Minister Sheryar Afridi, Ali Nawaz Khan, Syed Ali Haider Gilani among others.

In addition, Prime Minister Imran Khan and National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser will be honourary members of the team.
