Former prime minister and senior leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday said that the National Assembly speaker should issue production order for Asif Ali Zardari as not allowing him to attend the session and speak in the parliament will be considered disrespect to the people of Pakistan.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Zardari in the fake bank accounts case from his residence in the capital city. The anti-graft body has taken the former president to the NAB office in Rawalpindi.
Gilani said that Asif Zardari will face the courts and cases just like Benazir Bhutto faced them in the past.
“It won’t be a good service to democracy if Zardari is not given the permission to go to parliament,” he said.
