ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday dismissed an intra-court appeal (ICA) seeking protection of two Hindu girls who recently converted to Islam and married Muslim boys.

The bench declared the petition not maintainable due to jurisdiction limits and asked the girls to approach Sindh High Court (SHC) for relief.

A divisional bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani announced the judgment that was reserved in last hearing of the case.

The two girls Ghulam Ayesha and Dua Fatima had challenged the decision of a single member bench dismissing their plea.

The petitioners had said in their plea that they had converted to Islam and married Muslim boys willfully. They said that there was a threat to their lives from their family members and a local member provincial assembly (MPA) of Sindh.

The girls prayed the court issue directives to provide them security.

Ministry of Interior, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad and girls parents had been mentioned as respondents in the petition.

Earlier, chief justice IHC had already dismissed the same petition and the girls had filed an ICA against the verdict.
