A clash between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-Tehrik-e-Istiqlal Pakistan (TIP) activists marred at a joint seminar on ‘Stability and prosperity in Pakistan’ at the Aiwan-e-Iqbal on Sunday.
PTI workers started hooting at Senators S M Zafar and Muhammad Ali Durrani calling them left-over of dictators. During the TIP chairman’s speech, some PTI activists came on stage and called for Imran to speak.
Imran, in face of the disturbance, left after speaking for a few minutes. Chairman TIP Syed Ali Raza was also forced to quit amid the attack by PTI workers.
During his speech, PTI Chairman Imran Khan bashed the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) calling them two sides of the same coin. Khan said Pakistan could not develop unless corrupt leadership was eliminated. He warned the nation of its last chance to differentiate between good and bad politicians and get rid of the later ones. The PTI chief denied the perception of Pakistan as a poor country saying Balochistan alone possessed gold and silver reserves worth $ 260 billion while the country’s total debt amounted to only $ 60 billion.
The PTI chairman said his party believed in provision of justice and would continue to struggle for the mission. He claimed that the nation would not let the PPP and PML-N succeed in their missions of robbing the country.
Senator S M Zafar said the country was fighting against two major threats – terrorism and corruption. He said the armed terrorism was being done by non-state actors while the corruption was the work of government. “We can not prosper unless we win against both the problems,” he added.
Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani said revolution was the only solution. He said the leadership was only serving the Unite States designs and it was time the nation united against corrupt elements. Durrani had to leave his speech incomplete as the crowd started cheering slogans against him calling him “Fauji Bacha” because of his association with the Musharraf regime.

  1. PTI no doubt holds a key to solving the leadership problem of Pakistan and the carismatic personality of Imran khan will most likely provide the moral boosting effect for the depressed public. However PTI workers need to organise themselves in such a manner that they look different from the other parties and yet give a good account of themselves when a political confrontation occurs. I wish PTI a resounding victory in the comming elections.
