Younis Qidwai’s non-bailable warrant issued in fake accounts scam

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Friday issued non-bailable warrants for Younis Qidwai in the fake bank accounts scam after he failed to appear before the court for the third consecutive time.

Accountability Judge Mohammad Bashir resumed hearing on a reference pertaining to fake accounts scam in which nine suspects are nominated, including former Karachi administrator Hussain Syed and close friend of Asif Ali Zardari, Younis Qidwai.

In the hearing, seven of nine accused appeared before court whereas Samiuddin and Younis Qidwai did not appear.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till May 27, issuing a non-bailable warrant for former president Zardari’s friend.

It may be pertinent to mention that the suspects are accused of illegally allotting plots of welfare purposes in Sindh and damaging the national exchequer with a hefty amount.
