Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Hussain Syed on Saturday directed all five deputy commissioners to establish Ramazan Bachat Bazaars in their respective districts to control the prices of commodities during the holy month of Ramazan.
With Ramazan starting from the first week of August, the public is getting worried about the rising prices, as it is normal for the prices of essential commodities to go up before Ramazan, said the commissioner, while presiding over a meeting with his five deputies.
Besides, the deputy commissioners were also asked to prepare a price list of commodity items, so that the menace of profiteering and hoarding can be controlled.
