Three US nationals, who had been refused entry into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa three days ago, managed to enter the provincial capital on Saturday but only after the federal government intervened into the matter. According to reports, Sara Sadon, Kevin Lew and Scoh Lockhard landed at the Peshawar Airport from Islamabad on PIA flight PK 689.
They were stopped from exiting the airport premises after they failed to produce a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from the federal government. The KP government finally allowed them to leave the airport after two hours on the intervention of the federal government and the US embassy. The three Americans then left for the US club in University Town Peshawar.
Senior police officials said the three Americans were made to return to Islamabad some three days back and they were working on an ‘important assignment’ in Pakistan. Though the provincial government has not issued any instructions for the US or other foreign nationals in written but Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour had declared NOC compulsory for all foreigners a couple of days ago.
