Forensic facility to investigate as per modern standards’

The setting up of the Forensic Division is aimed at carrying out investigation of all the cases along modern lines, said Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Wajid Ali Durrani on Friday.
Durrani was speaking as the chief guest at the passing out ceremony of the third batch of the crime scene investigation and management course. He also distributed certificates among the police officers who attended the two-week course.
He felicitated the participants of the course and pointed out that the setting up of the Forensic Division is aimed at investigation of all the cases along modern lines so that none of its aspects are left for the accused to benefit from.
He said that it is his desire that this lab of the Forensic Division emerges as the best in the country. He added that whatever machines are required here would be made available.
Earlier, Forensic Division AIGP Munir Sheikh presented the welcome address. Sheikh said that the third batch comprising 51 officers from Hyderabad District Police benefited from the two-week training.
Karachi Additional IGP Saud Ahmed said on the occasion that those who acquired the training would be called master trainers. Durrani also visited the forensic lab located at the Garden Headquarters.
