Five ministers likely to be changed in Punjab cabinet reshuffle

LAHORE: A major reshuffle in Punjab’s cabinet and bureaucracy is on the cards.

At least five Punjab ministers are likely to be changed. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has accelerated meetings and consultations in this regard.

Chaudhry Sarwar will call on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday after meeting Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Sources said that Fayyazul Hassan Chohan is likely to be included in the cabinet in the reshuffle.

Moreover, a reshuffle is likely in the ministries of Dr Yasmin Rashid, Hussain Jahanian Gardezi, Sardar Asif Nakai, Zawar Hussain Warraich and Hafiz Mumtaz.

The decision in this regard is expected in the next couple of days and the move is being made in connection of improving performance of Punjab government.

Various departments have compiled the reports about the performance of the ministers and have sent it to the Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The PM, added the report, is expected to announce the reshuffle in the provincial cabinet and will remove different ministers from their posts.

Similarly, the Punjab bureaucracy will also witness a major reshuffle. The transfer and posting of chief secretary, four secretaries, 11 deputy commissioners and 31 assistant commissioners are expected in the next few days.
