–NAB court send suspects on a 13-day remand in Park Lane case

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court (AC) on Friday adjourned the hearing of a second reference pertaining to fake accounts till May 2, and directed all the accused to ensure their presence on the next date of hearing.

During the hearing, eight accused persons including former administrator Karachi Hussain Syed, Matanat Ali, Samiuddin Siddiqui, Syed Khalid Zafar Hashmi, Syed Jameel Ahmed, Abdul Rasheed and Najam u Zaman appeared before the court.

However, one accused Younis Qadwani could not attend the proceeding due to staying abroad. The court directed the accused to ensure their attendance on the next hearing and adjourned the case.

13-DAY PHYSICAL REMAND IN PARK LANE REFERENCE:

Separately, an accountability court granted 13-days physical remand of an accused TreCom Company General Manager Saleem Faisal in fake accounts case related to Park Lane.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the accused Saleem before Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir, after arresting him in Park Lane reference.

NAB prosecutor informed the court that there were corruption charges against the accused and prayed the court to grant his 14-days physical remand.

NAB officials said the accused had assisted a local bogus company to get loan worth Rs1.5 billion.

They said the department wanted to recover some documents from the accused related to the case and it needed physical remand of Saleem for this purpose.

The court granted 13-day of remand to NAB and adjourned the case.

The court asked the NAB to produce the accused along with another arrested person Iqbal Noori on the next date of hearing.
