The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) asserted on Friday that the Niaz Stadium Hyderabad was well-maintained and in very good condition.
“The impression is being created that the Stadium is being used for non-cricketing activities like wedding parties and also as a helipad and is not fit as a venue to host an international match,” said a PCB official.
“Reports of its bad condition are totally unfounded and completely baseless. Since the PCB took over the ground in June 2007 no such activity happened there,” he added.
“Maintenance of stadiums and grounds are a continuous process and PCB is committed to keep all the facilities ready to operate. Additional infrastructure installation is already under process and we are ready to host an international match on the ground on a week’s notice” Hyderabad Regional Cricket Association President Mir Haider Ali Talpur said.
It is pertinent to mention here that Niaz Stadium Hyderabad was chosen as a venue for the recently postponed tour of Bangladesh U-19 Cricket Team to Pakistan.
