Roshan Rahain organises second music festival for children, families

LAHORE: Roshan Rahain a non-profit organiSation in Pakistan organised the 2nd Children Music Festival on Saturday, 13th April 2019 in partnership with Ali Institute of Education for children and families. Roshan Rahain is a non-profit organisation working to highlight the importance of teaching children using various forms of art including music, storytelling and other engaging mediums.

The festival was held at Ali Institute of Education, one of the festival partners, and received an overwhelming response, with over 800 attendees including children, teachers and families.

The festival was divided into 10 highly engaging musical workshops led by expert music trainers from leading institutions along with food stalls, children-based activities, games and other exciting stalls were set up for immersive family entertainment.

Teams including Olomapolo, The Story Ghar, One Earth Toys, City School Music Team (Headed by Seeme Laleka) conducted the workshops. The school children from International Kindergarten, SOS Village, King David Music Academy, Beaconhouse School System, Beaconhouse TNS, City School, Ibne Sina, Beaconhouse Walton Campus, H&S School, Behra, SISA, Lahore Grammer School, Sharif Education City School, Laurel Bank School and many others.

Feedback from parents, participating teachers who attended the festival included.

Head of School, TNS Beaconhouse, Mr Clive Barnes said, “It was a very engaging and entertaining experience for the children, he endorsed the festival’s objectives and added that such activities should take place more often for children and families”.

“It was amazing how children were engaged during the workshop, the overall experience was very entertaining”, Mrs Hashim, mother of a participant from TNS Beaconhouse at the festival.

“We are very happy to be part of this unique learning experience through music and storytelling; our children thoroughly enjoyed each musical session teacher from Door of Awareness said.

“We are very happy that we attended the festival as it was a perfect learning experience for children, parents and teachers alike”, Shirmeen Ali, Student Counsellor at Beaconhouse, Gulberg Branch: said.

Roshan Rahain CEO, Shaigan Azhar shared his views that the overall objective of the festival was to create awareness about integrating music with learning skills of children, we worked very hard to put together series of musical workshops which were engaging and yet fun to attend. We need support by Corporate Sector and Philanthropists to create more such educational and engaging festivals for children and teens.
