KARACHI: Karachi Police Chief Amir Shaikh on Thursday suspended Superintendent of Police (SP) Gulshan Tahir Noorani over issuing threats to Nishwa’s father, a minor girl who got paralysed after being injected wrong medicine in Darul Sehat Hospital, situated in metropolis’ area of Gulistan-e-Jauhar.
Noorani was suspended in the light of probe report compiled by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Amir Farooqi.
The suspended SP Gulshan has been asked to report at the police lines.
On the other hand, AIG Karachi has also penned a letter to IGP Sindh Kaleem Imam, urging him to take departmental action against Noorani over threatening the affected family.
Tahir Noorani was seen in video footage purportedly threatening family to withdraw the case against the hospital administration and telling them ‘the hospital wouldn’t suffer, instead you will bear the brunt of problems…”
He also threatened the girl’s father, Qaiser Ali, with dire consequences over raising voice against criminal negligence of the hospital administration which paralysed a minor girl due to the administration of the wrong injection.
A video showed that Noorani was interacting with Qaiser Ali in the presence of other people reportedly inside the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
On April 14, a nine-month-old girl had paralysed allegedly after being administered ‘the wrong injection’ by ‘untrained nursing staff’ at Darul Sehat Hospital situated in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area.
