KP govt to take up province’s share in PSDP with Centre, KP PA told

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister Atif Khan Tuesday informed the house that matters relating to province’s share in Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) would be properly pursued by arranging a meeting with federal authorities.

He was presenting the stance of provincial government relating to PSDP during the proceedings chaired by Deputy Speaker Mahmood Jan.

Atif Khan admitted that KP has huge outstanding with federal government but the payment is delayed due to overburdened and overstressed economy. He assured house that a meeting would be arranged with Federal Minister for Finance Asad Umer and other relevant officials to address the issue of KP share in developmental sector projects.

Earlier, Inayatullah Khan of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) opening the debate said that outstanding amount of the province share in PSDP has not yet been released. Giving statistics he said that Rs 85 billion of KP was due in 213-14 against which 46 billion rupees were released, in 2014-15 an amount of 52 released against 72 billion, in 2016-17 the released amount was 62 billion against outstanding amount of Rs. 159, Rs. 141 billion were released in 2017-18 against outstanding amount of Rs. 238 billion adding matter should be resolved to ease overburdened provincial economy.

Ahmad Karim Kundi of Pakistan People Party (PPP) said that federal government should release the outstanding amount keeping in view financial difficulties of KP province. He suggested that provincial government should discuss its representation in developmental sectors projects.

During debate opposition members staged walk for not allowing Sardar Aurengzeb Nalota of PMLN who insisted to discuss military operation conducted in Hayatabad. The chair said that house has thorough discussed the incident in detail.

Nighat Ourakzai of PPP on a point of order paid rich tribute police force for its fight with terrorists last night in Hayatabad. She said that we would fight the terrorism till elimination of last terrorist and no compromise would be made on country’s peace and security.

Inayat Ullah Khan of MMA said that our security forces are praiseworthy but question arises who allotted the house to terrorists who were residing in the locality for so many years. He demanded full investigation of the incident to identify its causes.

Parliamentary Leader of Awami National Party, Sardar Hussain Babak said provincial government should brief house about the incident. Condemning the incident, he said that intelligence organizations should take pragmatic measures to eliminate the menaces of terrorism.

Ahmad Karim Kundi of PPP, Khushdil Khan Advocate and Laiq Muhammad Khan of ANP also condemned the incident and said that root causes of the terrorism should be identified aiming its final elimination.

Senor Minister Atif Khan responding to a calling attention notice of Rehana Ismail of MMA about historic Mashjid Mahabat Khan assured the house that provincial government would take care of historic mosque and said that political pressure would not be accepted regarding digging near the mosque.

KP Assembly also passed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth Development Commission Bill 2019 while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charities Bill 2019 was tabled in the house. The chair adjourned the proceeding till April 23 on 1:30 PM.
