KARACHI: The Sindh High Court on Wednesday was baffled during the hearing of a case after it was informed that some unknown persons were sending fake summons to suspects.

As the hearing went underway, NAB prosecutor Khalid Awan apprised the court that suspect Shamshad Ali was sent a fake notice.

The CJP directed NAB to investigate the matter.

Addressing the accountability watchdog, the CJ asked why no investigation had been done in the matter.

To this, NAB prosecutor responded that the bureau’s investigation officer, in whose name the notices were sent has been transferred.

The court then separated suspect Shamshad Ali from the case and maintained that suspects may get some sort of relief but the court won’t rest until the offender surfaces.

Moreover, the court summoned DG NAB Karachi and NAB’s Deputy Director Officer Gul Afridi on April 12.
