A PML (N) provincial leader and former Nazim Saleem Jadoon was shot dead in front of his office here on Wednesday.
Saleem Jadoon was sitting in the basement of his office at Patel road when unidentified men called him upstairs and opened fire on him, resulting in two shots in his skull and one in the chest. He was first moved to Civil Hospital, but was later shifted to Military Combined Hospital where doctors despite all efforts failed to save him. No one claimed responsibility for Jadoon’s murder.
It is suspected that the murder was a result of target killing, however, possibility of a personal dispute cannot be ruled out. Police have registered a case and have begun investigations.
Later, over two hundred PML (N) workers gathered in front of the Quetta Press Club and staged a protest demonstration. Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, provincial ministers Sardar Sanaullah Zahri, Provincial Chief Organiser Abdul Khaliq Achakzai expressed grief over Jadoon’s murder. The chief minister also directed police officials to try and arrest murderers of Saleem Jadoon.
Moreover, two including an eight year old boy were killed on Wednesday. Local police recovered dead body of the eight year old boy from an open place of Samungli road. The victim was identified as Sheryar Zahri. The family alleged that people belonging to the Langov tribe had killed the boy.
Later, unidentified men killed Ghulam Mustafa, belonging to Langov tribe in the same area, for which the rival group accused Zahri’s tribesmen of killing. Police registered cases on written complaints of rival groups and efforts are being made to arrest people nominated in the FIR.
