BERLIN: Participants of a protest rally in Berlin, the German city, called upon the international community especially the United Nations and the European Union to play their role for de-escalation in South Asia by facilitating a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
The protesters including students and members of various European Kashmiri and Pakistani organizations, braving cold rainy weather, gathered at central area of Berlin and raised slogans against recent Indian aggression on Pakistan and the Line of Control in Kashmir.
The rally was organized by Kashmir Free Organization. The participants denounced the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
Supporting oppressed people of occupied Kashmir struggling for their right to self-determination, the protesters marched at main street of Berlin city.
Speakers of the gathering including Chairman of the Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU), Ali Raza Syed and Kashmir Free Organization Chairman Dr Sadique Kiyani asked the world major powers to play their role for normalizing the tense situation in South Asia in the context of core issue of Kashmir.
They warned that the non-intervention of international community especially the UN and the EU might increase the risk of a nuclear war between Pakistan and India.
