KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday expressed annoyance at National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Director Tariq Hameed over the bureau’s lack of information in a land allotment case.
SHC Chief Justice (CJ) Ahmed Ali Sheikh was hearing a petition relating to controversial allotment of 404 plots in Gulistan-e-Jauhar’s Block 6, which was filed by Waqar, Abdul Latif Brohi and others.
The CJ directed Tariq Hameed to leave the courtroom for not providing his assistance in the case.
Justice Sheikh directed the NAB officer to brief the high court in the case and progress of the investigation made by his institution. But, NAB director failed to give any satisfactory reply to the SHC CJ.
“If you have no information, then what you are doing in the court. You should have the courtroom,” said the chief justice. The high court asked petitioners and lawyers to submit a reply in the case and directed NAB officials to explain the progress of investigation in the next hearing.
The court, later, adjourned the hearing till March 20.
