LAHORE: An accountability court on Monday adjourned hearing of assets beyond means case against former director general of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema till March 21.
Duty judge Muhammad Waseem Akhtar conducted the case proceedings due to unavailability of judge concerned, wherein Ahad Cheema was also produced. The court adjourning the matter till March 21 also extended the judicial remand of the former director general.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference against Ahad Cheema in connection with assets beyond means case. The NAB had claimed that the former LDA DG possessed Rs 600 million assets more than his known sources of income.
It is pertinent to mention here that the court had recorded statements of eight prosecution witnesses so far.
