ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry Hussain on Friday said that he disagrees with the resolution filed by certain members of the treasury benches against offering protest prayer by opposition members in front of NA speaker’s podium.
He said that politicians should realise that using ‘religion card’ in politics had always boomeranged.
PTI lawmakers Ali Khan Jadoon and Muhammad Ibrahim Khan in their resolution had said the way opposition members led by the JUI-F parliamentarian offered the prayer was against directives of Almighty Allah and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him).
The resolution said the opposition members were pointed out that they are not offering prayers in the right direction of qibla, but they ignored the advice.
The resolution further said the house was not a proper place to offer prayer in that situation when a mosque in the Parliament House is specifically meant for this purpose.
Responding to the resolution, Fawad tweeted: “Totally disagree with this resolution by my colleagues, as bad as JUI and PML- N effort to use religious card against Faisal Vawda. Politicians must understand using religious cards for politics always boomerang.”
