ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Friday sacked two officers of the Karachi chapter including Deputy Director (BS-18) Sarvesh Sheikh and Deputy Assistant Director (BS-16) Shakir Ali after corruption was proved against them in a departmental inquiry.
According to a NAB spokesperson, the officers were dismissed from service after completing all legal requirements. Both officers were provided ample opportunity to prove innocence, but they failed to defend allegations levelled against them, he said.
“There is no room for corrupt in NAB. It not only considers core eradication its foremost duty but also sincerely taking practical steps in this regard,” he said.
It’s pertinent to mention that NAB chief Justice (r) Iqbal had vowed self-accountability after taking over the accountability watchdog. The NAB was diligently pursuing guidelines of the chairman, the spokesperson said.
