RAWALPINDI: Indian Army once again resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate shelling in Battal and Mandhol sectors along the Line of Control (LoC), targeting the civil population on late Wednesday night.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “indiscriminate” shelling by Indian troops began at about 4:00am and continued till the filing of this report.

Pakistani forces gave a befitting response to the unprovoked shelling by Indian forces.

No casualties have been reported so far.

PAK ARMY ON HIGH ALERT:

Pakistan Army troops are on high alert along the LoC due to the prevailing situation, ISPR said on Thursday.

All required safeguards along Eastern Border are in place to thwart any Indian aggression, while Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Navy (PN) also continue to stay fully alert, ISPR said in a statement.

During the last 48 hours, Indian troops resorted to increased ceasefire violations in Kotli, Khuiratta and Tatta Pani sectors along the LoC, it said.

ISPR also said that Pakistan Army troops are responding effectively, adding that reports of casualties to Indian forces and damage to their posts were also received.

Indian deliberate firing on civilians resulted in the martyrdom of four citizens besides causing injuries to two others, the statement added.

ISPR has asked the public to stay mindful about rumour mills and be responsible in the use of social media, adding that Pakistan Armed Forces were in a state of readiness for all eventualities.
