The country’s political leaders on Wednesday lauded Pakistan Air Force’s valiant act of shooting down two Indian aircraft, saying Pakistan has the right to defend its frontiers in wake of India’s aggression on the Line of Control (LoC).
On Wednesday morning, Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Wednesday confirmed a counter-attack by PAF fighter jets that shot down two IAF MiG aircraft in Pakistani airspace in Jammu and Kashmir and arrested a pilot.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif asserted that “India provoked Pakistan” and Pakistan has “the right and is capable of defending its frontiers”.
He called on the international community to take notice of “Modi sarkar’s aggressions and brutalities in the [Indian] Occupied Kashmir (IOK) [and] taking lives of innocent civilians for its petty political gains”

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari said that Pakistan conducted an air strike against India and shot down two Indian Air Force jets in self-defence.
She tweeted that the premier had “warned India” that if it attacks, Pakistan will not think of responding but will retaliate. “Instead of asking for sanity and condemning India’s dangerous brinkmanship, some in the international community applauded India for its attack yesterday. We had the right to respond in self-defence and we did,” she added.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has said that Modi’s war frenzy is a threat to peace in the region.
He said that India once again violated LoC and Pakistan Armed Forces exercised their right to self-defence.
He urged India to respect the sanctity of borders. “We have never shunned the path of peace,” he added.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s spokesman Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar said that Modi wants to contest his elections at the borders and warned him that it will cost him dearly. The entire nation is standing shoulder to shoulder with brave Pakistani soldiers, he added.
PPP leader Syed Khursheed Shah said that Pakistan Army has given a clear reply to Indian intrusion.
He said, “We are a peaceful nation, if anyone tries to cast a malicious eye on Pakistan then we will make it an example.”
He said all political parties are on one platform and are standing with the government.
