BAHAWALPUR: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Saturday claimed to have arrested two alleged terrorists belonging to a banned outfit.

CTD spokesperson said that two “most wanted terrorists”, including Dost Muhammad alias Dosu and Ataullah, were arrested during a raid in the vicinity of the Sadar Police Station.

Both the arrestees allegedly belong to the banned Balochistan Republican Army (BRA), the CTD official said.

“A large cache of ammunition and weaponry was recovered from their possession besides two-kilograms of explosives, detonators, time devices and five hand grenades.”

The CTD spokesperson said that the terrorists have confessed to having plans of destroying the central gas pipeline in Bahawalpur. “The arrested persons have also confessed to receiving funding from a BRA commander who is currently residing somewhere in Afghanistan,” he added.
