A local court on Tuesday extended PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel Khan and his co-accused National Police Foundation (NPF) deputy director general and former DIG Laiq Ahmed’s interim bail until July 25 in the NPF land scam. The hearing of the case was held in the court of Special Judge Central Syed Ikhlaq Ahmed Shah. The judge directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to present the accused person in court along with charge-sheet at the next date hearing.
Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, counsel for the accused, argued that he could not prepare the case due to time constrains, and therefore he requested the court more time for the preparation of the case. Talking to media representatives, Siddiqui said the court had ordered the authorities to take Anjum to hospital for his medical checkup but the police did not comply with the orders.
