Govt bars public school teachers from private tutoring

The Punjab government on Wednesday barred public school teachers from private tutoring.

As per the details, the Punjab Education Authority said the decision had been taken to improve quality of education at schools across the province.

According to the order, the teachers will neither be able to teach at any private academy nor take up evening tuitions. The teachers will also not be able to tutor children they are teaching at public schools.

Warning the teachers of strict action in case of noncompliance, the order further said the violators would be proceeded against under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act (PEEDA) 2006.
