A small pilotless plane crashed near Korangi Oil Refinery in Korangi’s industrial area here on Tuesday morning but no casualty was reported.
According to the details, the plane was being used by Pak Navy employed to air control and take photographs.
According to Pakistan Navy sources, the UAV named ‘Uqab’ crashed in the refinery vicinity following bird hit while the craft was on usual training mission.
The relief activities were kick-started soon after the crash, as the oil refinery caught fire as soon plane hit the ground.
Incharge Security Oil Refinery and police sources said the fire has been extinguished; however, the smokes are still seen billowing from the site.
Pak Navy informed that the plane crashed on Oil Refinery, as a bird struck against it.
After the incident, the fire fighters were called and they controlled the blaze.
